The Diplomatic Academy represents the institution focused on the conduct of commercial diplomacy and transmission of knowledge and skills gained through responsible commercial diplomatic practise. The emphasis of the institution is on professional education in commercial diplomacy and commercial diplomatic law. At the same time, the institution maintains close ties with other recognised diplomatic institutions i.e diplomatic academies, diplomatic missions, government ministries (ministries of foreign affairs,trade and investment, commerce and industry etc). DAEA has become the incubator for other significant commercial diplomatic-related international organizations. Each new activity, building on the principles of, and as mandated by the global professional body, has served to enhance the global understanding of the importance of responsible commercial diplomatic practise, and expand the available tools with which the field of commercial diplomacy can be studied.
In accordance with its mandate, the Diplomatic Academy's objectives are to:

source, research and develop curricula, projects and training modules which analyse key global developments

support and strengthen capacity to prevent, measure and fight corruption

unite in one body those who are interested in responsible commercial diplomatic practise and the unique field of commercial diplomacy through inter-diplomatic forums

develop the capabilities of practitioners to be future generators of sustainable value for business and society at large

incorporate into its professional activities and curricula the values of global social responsibility as portrayed in the United Nations Global Compact

collaborate and conduct training courses with new and long established trusted institutions: Intergovernmental Organizations, diplomatic academies and professional institutes in all regions

engage in conceptual and empirical research that advances the understanding of the role, dynamics and impact of corporations in the creation of sustainable social, environmental and economical value

effectively implement (as a stakeholder) the United Nations Global Compact principles

interact with practitioners to extend the knowledge of their challenges in meeting social and environmental responsibilities and to explore jointly effective approaches to meeting these challenges

facilitate and support dialogue and debate amongst practitioners, educators, government, civil society organizations and other interested groups and stakeholders on critical global issues
